Solar Power - Solar Power Installation on Oakand's Green Youth Arts & Media Center
This video documents the installation of solar power panels on an urban youth center in Oakland, CA. The Sungevity company (www.sungevity.com) donated the panels as part of an international workday organized by 350.org on 10/10/10. The youth center is a new innovative project called Oakland's Green Youth Arts & Media Center that is run by the United Roots organization (www.unitedrootsoakland.org) and houses the Oakland Peapod Adobe Youth Voices Acadey (www.dipdive.com). This new youth center combines arts and media education, with youth leadership development, business incubation through social innovation, and sustainability practice. The media produced by youth from the Center advocates for social and environmental justice, so please check out our website: www.unitedrootsoakland.org
